Jamell Cervantez

Jamell brings more than a decade of experience as both a collegiate athlete and coach, with a passion for guiding young athletes through their journey in development, on and off the field. A former baseball player at Hutchinson Community College (2008–2010) and the University of Cincinnati (2010–2011), Jamell transitioned into coaching at Hutch CC from 2012 to 2019 before joining the staff at Wichita State University for the 2019–2020 season.

He holds an Associate’s Degree from Hutchinson Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati, and has continued to expand his expertise with certifications in both Driveline Pitching and Hitting.

Jamell is dedicated to helping young players navigate their personal and athletic journeys. He focuses on teaching athletes how to overcome failure, deal with adversity, and strengthen the mental side of their game, all while refining their physical skills and building their confidence. His specialties include hitting, throwing, and defensive development.
